This past weekend, my team and I completed the largest wedding I've ever had to produce. The table count doubled within two weeks of the wedding day and accommodating the large table jump was definitely a challenge, but not one that couldn't be done!

The girls of Studio Aesthete reached out to me a couple months back about coming out for a two on one lesson and possibly coming out to help with a wedding as well. It was fun getting to have their help prep for the wedding, make honeysuckle foraging runs, and then on Monday have the opportunity to teach them. We saved some gorgeous distant drums from the wedding, and then I went to the local wholesaler and picked up some florals that would compliment them. I went for a rich summer palette and it was fun to see them combine the colors and work them into beautiful arrangements and bouquets.

We then headed to lunch and talked all things business and social media, and I'm excited to see their business flourish and grow! Speaking of growing, that pregnant belly of mine is well on its way!

Thanks to Heather Nan for the photos!

Beautiful brides Hannah, the epitome of class. I loved every interaction I had with her! She is so lovely in every sense of the word and I loved getting to work with a palette of muddy and dark purples.

When I was about 12 years old I was determined that the profession I wanted to pursue was a fashion designer. I would often sketch little outfits and dream of a lifestyle in New York designing and making clothes. When Project Runway came on to the scene, I never missed an episode. I'll never forget the season when Leanne Marshall's designs gracefully walked the runway in shades of ivory and sea foam blue. Each piece was so strong with the folds in the fabric, there was such a strength, but feminine quality to each piece.

As the years went on, I realized fashion design in Salt Lake just probably wasn't an option and I pursued many creative outlets before landing on flowers. It's been so fun getting to see brides wear Leanne Marshall gowns and getting to pair flowers with them. I think we share similar aesthetics in appreciating femininity and refinement.

When Leanne asked Heather Nan to shoot her 2016 Wedding Collection, I was equally excited when Heather asked me to make some flowers for it. We decided to create different scenes based on the softness of spring which I think paired with the dresses perfectly.

It's always sad for me to see Spring go, I think it's the season where I enjoy arranging the most. Until next year Spring!

Since doing flowers every year has proven to be more wonderful than the last. This year is no exception. About a year ago Becca from The Garden Gate Flower Company reached out to me about possibly coming out to teach with them at their workshop in Cornwall. I nearly leaped off my seat and screamed I was so excited. We love traveling, and to combine traveling with teaching seemed like the perfect merriment. Upon meeting Becca and Maz it was like friends at first sight. We enjoyed many meals together, shared loads of laughs, and I really enjoyed teaching alongside them. They have such a beautiful way of combining their flowers, and to know they grow them themselves makes you love them even more. Each stem feels extra special knowing exactly where it came from. Each and every student was lovely, and I miss England all the time. We are already talking about heading back next year, and sharing a few more meals with Becca and Maz.

This was easily one of my favorite weddings of my career. The weeks leading up were quite stressful figuring out logistics and ensuring that everything would run smoothly but as soon as we got there and I had the flowers in my hands, I knew the wedding would be beautiful. I had some of the flowers delivered from Holland, but the majority of the flowers and foliages were collected from a local horticulturist who took my wish list and inspiration and came back with two VW vans full of the most beautiful product I could have ever imagined. Most of the arrangements were about 80% foliage because the varieties were all so incredible.

I had a great team that week. Rebekah of Forage and Fleur had just finished a wedding in Scotland and hopped over to Ireland to help. Also lovely Ann Marie O' Leary , she drove all the way from Dingle just to help as we arranged in the pouring rain freezing our buns off. Somehow I didn't mind the rain though. I made the bouquet getting drenched by the rain, soaking me through three layers, but we all had huge smiles on our faces. It was just too wonderful of an opportunity for rain to cause any ounce of sadness.

We incorporated a lot of trees into the wedding. We had these huge pots that the bride had purchased so I had the idea of bringing trees onto the tables between the flowers and I loved the end result and hope to do the same for another bride in the future. We added little mushrooms to the soil to give them a more forest feel.

The trickiest part of this wedding was that the ceremony and reception locations were about 40 minutes apart. I've learned that with enough planning ahead of time, things will always run a lot smoother. We were able to pull it off with time to spare, and creating that arch with Ann Marie and Rebekah was great fun.

It was definitely an adventure for Curtis driving on the opposite side of the road, maneuvering through parking garages with a giant van, and trying to dispose of garbage (unusually difficult in Ireland), but amazing all the same.

When I boarded the plane home, I was really happy and proud that we were able to accomplish something that we had never done before, and something I had never imagined I'd have the opportunity to do! I hope the opportunity arises again.

This magical wedding was for a friend of mine who is an artist of her own. I've worked with her prior to her wedding on many occasions and her talents as a hair stylist are unmatched. She is a sweet and kind mom, and I felt honored to be apart of the union of her gorgeous family. Aubrey's wedding was featured on Once Wed.
